MUDI

Everyone-

MUDI ('Aquatennial') is coming up in less than 10 days. This means we have one more Sunday and one more Wednesday practice before the tournament. With that in mind, If you are planning on playing in MUDI, I would like to have all of those players attend Sundays Practice.

Also Sunday practice times may be changed starting July 9th. This is only practice times, not location. Stay tuned to the blog and the calendar for updates.

Wednesday Practices

Everyone-

Due to some problems with SPA on Wednesdays, we are in search of new fields. Below is the plan for Wednesday June 28th 2006.

Plan - A : There's a big soccer field next to the calhoun professional
building across the street from lake calhoun. I've rarely seen it in
use.

wy&city=Minneapolis&state=MN&zipcode=55416&country=US&geodiff=1

Plan - B : Kenwood park is not far away, and it includes at least three
areas large enough to have an ultimate field.

city=Minneapolis&state=MN&zipcode=55405&phone=&spurl=0&&q=kenwood%20park
&qc=Parks

Plan - C : There's a soccer field halfway around the lake from Kenwood
park. There are never formal games going on there, though we might have
to fight with some pickup players.

Soynuts!

Soynuts has a pretty cool team name; but even better, they are hosting a tournament and we are invited! We couldn't turn down such an offer to play at Fertile Grounds 2006, so we have graciously accepted and turned in our check. The tournament will be held in Iowa City at the Hawkeye fields on June 17-18. This would be a good tournament for getting our cleats muddy for some of the tougher upcoming events in July and August. This tournament is about 3 weeks away, so we will be spending a lot of practice time getting ourselves ready for this.

Speaking of practices and such, last week was our last track practice and with the start of TCUL Summer League this Thursday, we have moved to practicing on Wednesdays at SPA. I have posted the dates for practices through the rest of this month and June on the calendar, along with the dates for the tournaments that we will be attending. (Sectionals and Regionals haven't been announced specifically, so they aren't up yet)

Also please note that on Wednesday's practices have been moved to 6:30 PM start time at SPA. We had originally planned on 7PM, but we have reconsidered and moved it back a half an hour.

Lastly, there was graduations for a few of our friends last weekend. Congratulations to everyone who has graduated from College this spring.

Curtis Makes A Post!

Hey TFB!

We had a good practice last Sunday, despite the fact that it was Mother’s day, and despite the fact that I couldn’t catch a disc to save my mother’s life.

This coming Sunday should be bigger and better than our first two practices. We would like to discuss upcoming practices and the first couple tournaments of the summer, so if you value your own opinions, please make it out to practice.

Bring a dark and a white shirt. 1pm at SPA as usual.

Also, tonight is our final track practice. 6pm at Minnehaha Academy. Come out it you dare.

See ya tonight or Sunday!

Help Out Jeff Hagen!

Jeff Hagen is in charge of the UPS YCC this year. Hamlin was in charge last year and he did a great job. But like Hamlin will tell anyone, volunteers for this are crucially important.

Word has it that there are lots of kids out there that want to play, we are just sorely lacking coaches. So if you have some free time and like playing ultimate, this could be something great for you.

The UPA YCC needs your help. Once again, the UPA Youth Club Championships will be held in Blaine, MN in August 2006.

We are currently searching for coaches for both Minnesota Open and Girls tams and would love for you to get involved.

If you are interested, and I hope that you are, please contact Jeff Hagen today at 651-341-9448 or by email at wblultimate@yahoo.com

Please pass this along to your team in hopes that one or more of you might be available to help coach.

See you on the field,
